But from the beginning of September, I expect to be editing Granta magazine, so this will be my last column.
Ali, herself born in Dhaka and now living in England, has been named by Granta magazine as one of the top 20 young British novelists and Brick Lane was short listed for the prestigious British 2003 Booker Prize.
Peter Ho Davies (below), aged 33, is one of 20 writers who feature on this year's The Best of Young British Novelists list compiled by Granta magazine.
