Granville State Forest Location: Off Route 57 in Granville, along the southern border of Massachusetts. Facilities: 22 campsites (no hookups), restrooms (é), showers, trails. Activities: Camping, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hunting (with restrictions), cross-country skiing, bird watching, wildlife viewing. Camping is permitted only at designated sites; wilderness camping and swimming are prohibited. Special Features: Forest includes rustic campgrounds along the Hubbard River, named for the first English pioneer who settled here in 1749. The river cascades through natural rock formations, forming pools and waterfalls and dropping 450 feet in 2.5 miles.
