Great Blasket Island, Ireland After its population began to dwindle and the few remaining inhabitants could no longer support themselves, Great Blasket was abandoned in 1953.
The programme makes use of archive material and interviews with natives who hark from the Aran Islands, Inishbofin and Ceantar na nOilean in Co Galway, The Great Blasket in Co Kerry, Achill in Co Mayo and Tory Island in Co Donegal.
The only time King Tara has run in the lowest grade was over the course in June when Great Blasket proved too hot to handle.
