Greenberg, Jack (1924– ) lawyer, educator; born in New York City. As assistant counsel, then director-counsel of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Legal Defense and Education Fund (1949–84), he argued many important civil rights cases before the Supreme Court. He taught at Columbia University's law school (1970–84) and served as vice-dean before becoming dean of Columbia College (1989). His books include Judicial Process and Social Change (1976).
