Grimmelshausen, Hans Jakob Christoffel von (häns yä`kôp krĭs`tôfəl fən grĭm`əlshou'zən), 1625–76, German novelist. Impressed into the Thirty Years War Thirty Years War, 1618–48, general European war fought mainly in Germany.
