Location: 25 miles southeast of Portales, New Mexico.
Facilities: Viewing sites, trail.
Activities: Hiking.
Special Features: In years that the lake holds water, lesser sandhill cranes may be seen throughout the fall and winter months.
Habitats: 3,236 acres of saline lake bed and grasslands.
Access: Year round during daylight hours.
Wild life: Lesser sandhill cranes, waterfowl, and shore birds.
