Guglielmi, Louis (O.) (1906–56) painter; born in Cairo, Egypt. He and his family emigrated to New York City (1914), and he studied at the National Academy of Design (1920–25). His painting of people under a glass bell in the desolate streets of New York, Terror in Brooklyn (1941), is typical of his combination of surrealism and social commentary. |
