A dimensionless number used in studying convective heat transfer in evaporation, equal to (t₀-t_m)/T₀, wheret₀is the temperature of a hot gas stream,t_mis the temperature of a moist surface over which it is flowing, andT₀is the absolute temperature of the gas stream. SymbolizedGu;N_Gu.
