This national monument, established in 1939, was transferred to Escambia County in 1946, only to be transferred back to NPS upon establishment of Gulf Islands National Seashore in 1971. Eight-year-old Jesse Arbogast was attacked at the Gulf Islands National Seashore as he played in the knee-deep water at dusk on July 6. Examples include: The California Coastal Trail that runs more than 1,200 miles along CA coast; Florida National Scenic Trail that runs the length of FL from Gulf Islands National Seashore to Big Cypress National Preserve; and Massachusetts' Norwottuck Network that is a system of trails, bike paths, waterways, and urban walks. |
