Gunpowder Falls State Park Location: Between Harford and Baltimore counties, in the Gunpowder River Valley. Facilities: Youth group camps, 2 camper cabins, rental cottage, picnic areas and shelters, playgrounds, trails (100 miles), swimming beach, marina, boat launch, boat rentals, food concessions, visitor center, museum (é). Activities: Boating, flatwater and whitewater canoeing, tubing, windsurfing, freshwater and saltwater fishing, swimming, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, hunting, cross-country skiing, interpretive programs. Special Features: Park areas include the Hereford Area, where there is a vacation rental cottage and world-class trout fishing; the 21-mile Northern Central Railroad Trail for hiking and bicycling; the Hammerman Area, which has swimming beaches and watercraft rentals; Dundee Creek Marina, which offers boat and slip rentals as well as boat launching in the Gunpowder River; and the Central Area, which includes the historic village of Jerusalem and has Jerusalem Mill as the park headquarters and visitor center. Gunpowder Falls is primarily a day-use park.
