Gurevich effect [′gu̇r·ə·vich i‚fekt]
(solid-state physics) An effect observed in electric conductors in which phonon-electron collisions are important, in the presence of a temperature gradient, in which phonons carrying a thermal current tend to drag the electrons with them from hot to cold.
