Gvardeisk
(until 1946, Tapiau), a city (since 1722), the center of Gvardeisk Raion, Kaliningrad Oblast, RSFSR; located on the right bank of the Pregolia River (empties into Kaliningrad Bay in the Baltic Sea). Railroad station 38 km east of Kaliningrad.
