HP-UX

HP-UX
HP's version of Unix that runs on its 9000 family. It is based on SVID and incorporates features from BSD Unix along with several HP innovations.

HP-UX conforms to X/Open's Portability Guide Issue 4 (XPG4), Federal Information Processing Specification (FIPS) 151.1, POSIX 1003.1, POSIX 1003.2, AT&T's System V Interface Definition 2 (SVID 2). HP-UX incorporates selected features from the University of California at Berkeley Software Distribution 4.3 (4.3BSD).

It is known by some as "HP-SUX".

com TIBCO Software Inc (Nasdaq:TIBX), an enterprise software provider, has revealed it is completing the porting of its BusinessWorks, iProcess Suite and BusinessEvents software to HP Integrity servers running HP-UX 11i.
Moreover, the future HP-UX 11i v3 implementation of HP's Unix, which is supposed to have increased affinity with the AlphaServer's Tru64 Unix and TruCluster clustering software, has been pushed out 12 to 16 months and will now be delivered sometime in the second half of 2005.
