Halekii-Pihana Heiau State Monument Location: In Wailuku at the end of Hea Place, off Kuhio Place from Waiehu Beach Road (Highway 340). Facilities: Cultural site; no drinking water. Special Features: Monument preserves the remains of two important heiau (places of worship) that were rededicated as war temples by Kahekili, Maui's last ruling chief. Site offers a view of central Maui and the Wailuku Plain.
