## Half-Open Interval

in mathematics, the set of points on a number line that satisfy the inequality *a* ≤ *x* < *b* or the inequality *a* < *x* ≤ *b*. In the first case, the half-open interval is denoted by [*a, b*), and in the second case, by (*a, b*]. The points *a* and *b* are called the endpoints of the half-open interval.
