Hamburg State Park Location: 20 miles north of Sandersville via Hamburg State Park Road off GA102. Facilities: 30 tent/trailer/RV campsites, pioneer campground, 2 picnic shelters, group shelter, trails (3.5 miles), 225-acre lake, boat rentals, historic grist mill and museum, country store. Activities: Camping, boating (no gas motors), canoeing, fishing, hiking. Special Features: Park offers a mix of outdoor recreation and history. A 1920s water-powered grist mill is still operating today, and a museum at the park displays old agricultural tools and appliances used in rural Georgia.
