Hammond, Norman (1944–  ) archaeologist, anthropologist; born in England. He was educated through his Ph.D. at Cambridge University, England, where he taught until joining the Rutgers University faculty (1977). A fieldworker of wide range, he became best known for his work on Maya settlements and structures; his books include Ancient Maya Civilization (1982) and Nohmul… (1985).
