Size: 62 acres.
Established: Designated on June 22, 1948.
Location: North of Baltimore, Maryland. From I-695 take Exit 27B north (Dulaney Valley Road) and then a right on Hampton Lane. From downtown Baltimore take I-83 (Jones Fall Expwy.) to I-695 east toward Towson to Exit 27B.
Facilities: Restaurant/snacks, visitor center (é), museum/exhibit, self-guided tour/trail.
Activities: Guided and self-guided tours.
Special Features: This is a fine example of the lavish Georgian mansions built in America during the latter part of the 18th century. When it was completed in 1790, Hampton was the largest house in the United States. Site includes mansion, gardens and grounds, and original stone slave quarters.
