Also found in: Wikipedia | 0.10 sec. |
hand codingWriting in a programming language. Hand coding in assembly language or in a third-generation language, such as C or Java, is the traditional way programs have been developed. In contrast, visual programming tools allow full applications or parts of an application to be developed without writing lines of programming code. Many high-level development systems offer a combination of visual tools, while allowing the programmer to "hand code" the parts that are not predefined. See hard coded. |

This improved workflow minimizes the need for hand coding, which in turn decreases errors and shortens the time typically needed for on-target rapid prototyping and production code deployment, two factors that are critical to successful delivery of sophisticated electronic products in the automotive industry. Hand coding is less expensive than packaged integrations software in the short term. Previously Blue Nile relied heavily on hand coding of custom integration interfaces to move data from its various data sources into the company's data warehouse. |
