Harahan

Harahan (hâr`əhăn'), city (1990 pop. 9,927), Jefferson parish, SE La., a suburb of New Orleans, on the Mississippi River. An agricultural shipping center, the city also makes metal and paper products, building materials, machinery, soft drinks, and foods. The Huey P. Long Bridge over the Mississippi is nearby.
