Hard Labor Creek State Park Location: I-20 exit 105 into Rutledge, then north 3 miles on Fairplay Road. Facilities: 63 tent/trailer/RV campsites, 12 equestrian campsites, pioneer campground, 20 cottages, 2 group camps, 5 picnic shelters, 2 group shelters, hiking trails (2.5 miles), equestrian trail (22 miles), horse stalls, riding ring, 2 lakes, beach and bathhouse (seasonal), boat rentals, 18-hole golf course. Activities: Camping, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, horseback riding. Special Features: Hard Labor Creek cuts through the park's championship golf course, creating water hazards on five holes. The creek is thought to have been named by slaves who tilled summer fields or by Native Americans who found it difficult to ford.
