A new report by the nonprofit Environmental Working Group details a major increase in hard-rock mining claims near some of this nation's most treasured national parks, including the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and Yosemite.
As if the hard-rock miners weren't getting a sweet enough deal, they're also allowed to enjoy a special tax break.
