Under 11: Merseyside League: Wirral 2 (Joe Hardy, George Harry) Warrington 1; Huyton 1 (Callum Lucy) Kirkby 0; St Helens 3 (Joshua Agbozo 2, Rory Middleton) Bootle 3.
The film includes footage of comic actor Glenn Melvyn, George Formby, Victor Borge, Charlie Chaplin, Laurel and Hardy, George Carl and Max Wall.
It is a mixture of narration and celebration, using a children's choir and an organ to tell the Christmas story in six of the 16 movements; interspersed with those passages from the gospels are larger-scale orchestral and choral settings of other texts, including poems by Milton, Hardy, George Herbert and the composer's wife, Ursula.
