harmonic distortionIn communications, unwanted frequencies that are generated as multiples of the original frequency due to irregularities in the transmission line. The harmonic distortion for a synthesized 5 kHz sine wave was more than 100 dB below the fundamental. These currents, known as harmonic distortion disturb the voltage quality on the power line causing a variety of disturbances within an affected facility. 5% efficiency and less than 3% total harmonic distortion (THD) with a 7% harmonic filter (standard on the 180 - 225 models). |
