Hauser, Gayelord

Hauser, (Benjamin) Gayelord (b. Helmut Eugene Benjamin Gellert Hauser) (1895–1984) nutritionist; born in Tübingen, Germany. He studied nutrition in Europe and became famous in the 1920s promoting health foods and vegetarianism. Based in California after 1930, Hauser advised celebrity clients and published a series of books, including Look Younger, Live Longer (1950), whose popularity defied scientists' skepticism about his program.
