Haverhill fever [′hāv·ə·rəl ‚fē·vər]

(medicine)

An acute bacterial infection caused byStreptobacillus moniliformis,usually acquired by rat bite, and characterized by acute onset, intermittent fever, erythematous rash, and polyarthritis. Also known as streptobacillary fever.
