Hayden, Sophia (c. 1868–1953) architect; born in Santiago, Chile. Raised in Boston, this first woman graduate (1890) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's architecture course designed the Women's Building at the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893, her only completed work in a career cut short by a nervous breakdown.
