Hedberg, Hollis Dow (1903–88) geologist; born in Falun, Kans. He worked for several U.S. and Venezuelan oil companies (1926–64) while concurrently serving as a geology professor at Princeton (1959–71). He published over 150 papers on petroleum geology, sedimentary rocks, stratigraphy, and the oceans.
