Heflin, James (Thomas) (1869–1951) U.S. representative/senator; born in Louina, Ala. A lawyer and state representative, he filled vacancies in the U.S. House of Representatives (Dem., Ala.; 1904–20) and the Senate (1920–31), afterward working for the Federal government in Alabama.
