Hekmat, Ali Asghar
Born 1892 in Shiraz. Iranian literary scholar and state figure. Hekmat graduated from the American High School in Tehran in 1918. He became minister of education in 1933 and later served as minister of foreign affairs. He retired in 1955. Hekmat wrote studies on the history of Islam and works of literary history, including monographs on the work of Jami (1941) and Navoi (1947). REFERENCEIraj Afshar. Naser Farsi-eh moaser.
