Helichrysum
a genus of plants of the family Compositae. The plants are mostly perennial herbs and subshrubs; some have a thick feltlike pubescence. The tubular flowers are in heads gathered into one compound, usually corymbose, inflorescence. The involucre scales are imbricated, usually dry, and glumaceous. The scales are frequently brightly colored and sometimes stretch out after blooming. The fruit is an achene having a pappus with one row of bristles. The inflorescences are used as cholagogues in the form of a tea or liquid extract. Many ornamental species are everlastings. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
