Bishop, Sir Henry Rowley, 1786–1855, English operatic conductor, composer or arranger of 120 dramatic works. He is known today for a setting of Shakespeare's "Lo, here the gentle lark" and the melody of Home, Sweet Home from J. H. Payne's comic opera, Clari, or, The Maid of Milan (1823).

After a freelance spell, he joined Josh Gifford's stable for the 1974/75 season and Saturday's marvellous win follows successes like the Hennessy with Approaching, the SGB Chase with Henry Bishop and the SGB and Christmas Hurdles on Kybo.
He was the son of Oswald Henry Bishop and his wife Rosetta Mary (nee Long).
Other big race wins came through Approaching (1978 Hennessy), Kybo (1978 SGB Hire Shop Hurdle & Christmas Hurdle), Henry Bishop (1980 SGB Chase) and Aldaniti (1981 Whitbread Trial Chase).
