Hewitt, Henry (Kent)

(1887–1972) naval officer; born in Hackensack, N.J. He was responsible for the successful amphibious landings in Morocco (1942), Sicily (1943) and southern France (1944). He was the naval representative on the United Nations military staff committee (1946–49).
