One of a homologous series of polymethylene bis(trimethylammonium) ions, of the general formula [(CH3)3N(CH2)6N(CH3)3]2+, in which n is 6; possesses potent ganglion-blocking action, effecting reduction in blood pressure; used clinically as a salt, commonly bromide or iodide.
