high-pass filter

See filter.

high-pass filter

[′hī ‚pas ′fil·tər]
(electronics)
A filter that transmits all frequencies above a given cutoff frequency and substantially attenuates all others.

high-pass filter

A filter that blocks low frequencies and allows higher frequencies to pass through. Such filters are used in devices such as POTS splitters that direct phone and DSL signals to different lines. Contrast with low-pass filter.

One interesting item that I also reviewed along with the subwoofer was a nifty, outboard, electronic high-pass filter the company also sells.
Because the VTF-3 MK-3 has that variable low-pass adjustment range of 30-90 Hz, it can integrate to near perfection with any slope offerings available with the high-pass network.
The conventional filtering techniques: f-k, High-Pass and BandPass are applied in the frequency domain but in the case of Ground Roll amplitude stronger than reflection signals, f-k filters cause serious distortion of the signal (Karsh and Bayrak, 2004).
The analyses with f-k, High-Pass and the KL Filters gave the better results for the last one.
The scaling function and wavelet function correspond to a low-pass filter and a high-pass filter, respectively, and are called "quadrature mirror filters" in a signal processing context.
The raw cutting sound signals were processed by the digital high-pass filter (FIR, degree = 64, cutoff frequency [f.
By performing large-gain and high-pass signal conditioning in a single stage in the analog domain, the AD8232 can accommodate electrode DC offsets while operating on a single supply voltage without sacrificing performance or signal quality.
Normally, you could do this by merely setting a typical surround processor or outboard crossover so that the main-channel speakers were high-pass filtered above a certain point and with the low bass going to a subwoofer.
I did hookup in such a way that the separately amplified Cantata woofers and my SVS 16-46PC subwoofer were handling the low bass as a team, with the Cantata woofers given additional low-pass filtering by the same crossover that was high-pass filtering the midrange drivers.
If the high-pass filter for both of the mid-bass drivers is 80 Hz, then it only makes sense to have the low-pass frequency locked in to properly accommodate that roll-off.
Unlike traditional ear plugs currently used by concert-goers, event spectators and musicians that distort the sound by "muffling" the mid and high frequencies, Comply (TM) Foam Plugs use acoustic baffling and high-pass filters to even out the sound blocking across the entire frequency spectrum.
Supports low-pass, high-pass, notch/band-stop, band-pass, and all-pass phase shift/time delay filters to help ease system design.
