high-pass filter
A filter that blocks low frequencies and allows higher frequencies to pass through. Such filters are used in devices such as POTS splitters that direct phone and DSL signals to different lines. Contrast with low-pass filter.
high-pass filter [′hī ‚pas ′fil·tər]
(electronics)
A filter that transmits all frequencies above a given cutoff frequency and substantially attenuates all others.

6 Filtering To test the robustness of the proposed watermarking scheme against filtering attacks, the watermarked audio signals were subjected to lowpass filtering (LPF), highpass filtering (HPF), and bandpass filtering (BPF) attacks.
The pulses were smoothed using digital low-pass (50 Hz) and highpass (8 Hz) filters to remove the low frequency baseline.
To clarify things, examine the response of the bass management system's lowpass and highpass sections with the Sound Equalizer in and out of the signal chain (figure 11).
