Hillis, Margaret

Hillis, Margaret (1921–  ) choral conductor; born in Kokomo, Ind. A student of Robert Shaw at Juilliard, she is best known for organizing the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Chorus (from 1957) and building it into a major ensemble. She also conducted opera and orchestras.
