On central southern border of NH, south of Concord; original county, organized Apr 29, 1769. Name Origin: For Wills Hill (1718-93), 1st Earl of Hillsborough, English secretary of state for the colonies (1768-72). Also spelled Hillsboro. Some also note that one of the original grantees of land was Col. John Hill of MA.

Area (sq mi): 892.20 (land 876.36; water 15.84). Pop per sq mi: 457.90.
Pop 2005: 401,291. State rank: 1. Pop change: 2000-20005 5.40%; 1990-2000 13.30%. Pop 2000: 380,841 (White 92.30%; Black or African American 1.30%; Hispanic or Latino 3.20%; Asian 2.00%; Other 2.70%). Foreign born: 6.80%. Median age: 35.90.
Income 2000: per capita $25,198; median household $53,384; Pop below poverty level: 6.30%. *Personal per capita income 2000-2003: $36,011-$36,858.

    On Tampa Bay on the central Gulf coast of FL; organized Jan 25, 1834 (prior to statehood) from Alachua and Monroe counties. Name Origin: For Wills Hills, Earl of Hillsborough (1718-93), Irish peer and secretary of state for the colonies (1768-72) who had received a large grant of land in FL. Named by Bernard Romans, his surveyor.

    The 13th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission is accepting applications to fill a Hillsborough County court vacancy, created by the appointment of Judge Elizabeth Rice to the circuit court.
    Full Hillsborough County Liquor license that can be used in several ways.
