Baetica
Roman province in southern Spain, formed under Augustus, circa 15–12 B.C., upon the division of Lusitania from Hispania Ulterior. It was named Baetica in the second half of the first century B.C. In comparison with other Roman provinces in Spain, Baetica was the most highly developed economically and the most romanized. In the early fifth century the territory of Baetica was conquered by the Vandals. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
