Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst, Chlodwig Karl Viktor, Fürst zu (klōt`vĭkh kärl vĭk`tôr fürst ts
hō`ənlō'ə-shĭl`ĭngsfürst), 1819–1901, German chancellor (1894–1900). As premier of Bavaria (1866–70), he favored German unification, and in 1871 he entered the service of the German Empire and became one of Bismarck's staunchest supporters. He was ambassador to Paris (1874–80) and governor of Alsace-Lorraine (1885–94).
