Holmes, John Clellon (1926–88) writer; born in Holyoke, Mass. He studied at Columbia University (1943; 1945–46) and the New School for Social Research (1949–50). He wrote novels and essays describing the Beat Generation, as seen in Nothing More to Declare (1967). He also published poetry, was a lecturer at writing workshops, and taught at the University of Arkansas beginning in 1977. How to thank TFD for its existence?
