Hologenesis
the autogenetic theory of evolution, according to which each species divides into two daughter species within its own area of distribution; one develops in an accelerated manner and the other in a slow manner. The latter gives rise to more highly organized forms. The theory of hologenesis was worked out (1917–31) by the Italian paleontologist D. Rosa. Hologenesis, like many other idealistic teachings, seeks to explain the evolution of organisms through the action of solely internal factors. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
