Holt, Edwin Bissell

Holt, Edwin Bissell (1873–1946) psychologist; born in Winchester, Mass. He studied at Harvard with William James and taught there until 1919, when he moved to Princeton (to 1936). His research was directed toward giving a completely physiological account of motivation and learning. His best-known work is Animal Drive and the Learning Process: An Essay Toward Radical Empiricism (1931).
