Established: 1941.
Location: 6 miles east of Waupun, Wisconsin.
Facilities: Visitor center, picnic area, viewing sites, hiking trails, auto tour route.
Activities: Fishing, hiking, bicycling, cross-country skiing, hunting, educational programs.
Special Features: Horicon Marsh, covering 32,000 acres, is the largest freshwater cattail marsh in the United States.
Habitats: 21,417 acres of hemi-marsh surrounded by grasslands.
Access: Open from dawn to dusk.
Wild life: Canada geese, herons, egrets, ducks, snapping turtles, river otters, and white-tailed deer.

Horicon Marsh in central Wisconsin is one of the largest cattail marshes in the world, and a stopover for millions of migrating Canadian geese each fall.
June 10-11: Horicon, WI, Horicon Marsh Bowmen * June 17-18: Duluth, MN, Duluth Archers * June 24-25: Brownstown, MI, Lincoln Bowmen * July 15-16: Greencastle, PA, Greencastle Sportsmen * July 22-23: Pelham, NH, Pelham Fish and Game * July 29-30: New Royalton, OH, South Cyahoga Sportsmen * August 12-13: Sparta, WI, Sparta Rod and Gun * August 19-20: Central City, IA, Hitaga Archery Club * August 26-27: Wabash, IN, Bass and Bucks You can shoot 100 targets over two days or 50 targets in one day.
Other speakers will focus on restoring Trumpeter Swans in Wisconsin; breeding biology of Wood Ducks; water birds of Texas; waterfowl and wetlands; the river birds in Wisconsin's Sauk County; bog birds of Michigan; the migration of shorebirds; and Wisconsin's world-famous Horicon Marsh.
