Hough, Jerry F. (1935– ) political scientist; born in Salina, Kans. Teaching at the University of Illinois: Urbana (1961–68), the University of Toronto (1968–73), and Duke University (1973), he was named a staff member of the Brookings Institute (1979) and director of Investment & Communication at Duke's Center on East-West Trade (1987). His research focused mainly on Eastern European governments and their transition in the latter part of the 20th century.
