Houghton, Henry (Garret) (1905–87) meteorologist; born in New York City. At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1928–87) he helped found the National Center for Atmospheric Research in 1960 and was the first chairman of its parent organization, the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research.
