Hubertusburg, Treaty of (1763)
one of the peace treaties concluding the Seven Years’ War (1756–63), signed on Feb. 15, 1763, at the castle of Hubertusburg in Saxony, between Prussia on the one hand and Austria and Saxony on the other. According to the treaty, Prussia retained Silesia, which it had seized from Austria during 1740–42, but was required to withdraw its troops from the part of Saxony it had occupied. SOURCESMartens, G.
