Hujer, Oldřich 

Born Nov. 25, 1880, in Pacefice: died 1942. Czech linguist; member of the Czech Royal Scientific Society; member of the Czech Academy of Sciences (1924).

In 1924, Hujer became a professor at Charles University in Prague. He was editor of the linguistics section in the journals Listy filologické, Nase řeč, Slavia, and Naŝe vëda. He was one of the founders of Slavia (1922). His work dealt with Indo-European, primarily Slavic, languages; his basic writings dealt with the declension of Slavic nouns and the history of the Czech language before the introduction of writing.
