Hull, John (1624–83) merchant, goldsmith; born in England. He came to Boston in 1635. He became the mintmaster for Massachusetts (1652), coined the colony's pine tree emblem shillings (1662) and served as the colony's treasurer (1676–80). How to thank TFD for its existence?
