Hunsruck

Hunsrück 

a mountain region in the western part of the Federal Republic of Germany, part of the Rhenish Slate Mountains. The Hunsrück is situated between the valleys of the Rhine, Moselle, and Nahe rivers. It is approximately 100 km long and rises to 816 m at Mount Erbeskopf. The mountain region is composed primarily of schists and quartzites. The Hunsrück has beech and spruce forests, peat bogs, and meadows.

This is a German linguistic variety that has survived in Southern Brazil due to the influx of immigrants from the Hunsruck region of Germany in the 19th century and still retains antiquated linguistic elements, along with strong influences from Brazilian Portuguese.
Chapter one describes the late Neoproterozoic fauna at Ediacara, South Australia and then in five succeeding chapters Paleozoic lagerstatten, commencing with the Burgess Shale (BC, Canada), the Soom Shale (South Africa), the Hunsruck Slate (Germany), the Rhynie Chert (Scotland) and the Mazon Creek fauna (Illinois, USA).
